Kay has created this unique painting by mixing materials and methods not usually seen together in one painting.
To achieve the softness of fur or feather on the animal itself pastel is the preferred medium, however it would then be almost impossible to mix this medium with paint and foil. So, to achieve this overall dramatic effect the original pastel piece is produced as a print onto a soft textured art paper that will accept over working with a water-based paint, foil and fabric paints.
